Addison Construction completed the Boeing Rocketdyne assembly plant
as the general trades contractor. The overall size of the structure
and the complex elements within the building presented many special
challenges. The structure had five primary areas:
-
The engineering,
drafting, training and administration facility consumes 18,500
sq. ft. over two floors.
-
The 22,500 sq. ft.
receiving, warehousing and staging section includes two jib
cranes.
-
The Low Bay
assembly area includes five jib cranes and one bridge crane.
-
The High Bay
manufacturing facility features a 48’ high roof structure with
six jib cranes and one double hoist bridge crane.
-
The bridge crane
continues into the loading dock, passing through a massive
45-foot-wide coiling door.
